FAQ

Which format should I convert to?+

PNG for images that need transparency or sharp edges (logos, screenshots with text). JPEG for photos where file size matters more than a lossless result. WebP usually beats both — smaller than JPEG at the same visual quality, and it supports transparency like PNG — but is very slightly less universally supported by older software.

Does converting to JPEG lose transparency?+

Yes — JPEG has no transparency channel. Any transparent area in the source image gets filled with white in the JPEG output. Use PNG or WebP if you need to keep transparency.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?+

No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. The image never leaves your device.

Can I convert HEIC photos from an iPhone?+

Only if your browser itself can decode HEIC — Safari can, but Chrome and Firefox generally can't open HEIC files directly. If a HEIC upload fails, try opening it in Safari first, or use your phone's built-in "Save as JPEG" option.

We use privacy-respecting analytics to see how many people visit — never your recordings, which never leave your device.
